EP Second Reader Now Available

Available now in the EP Store!

Here we go. Another book is complete. EP’s Reading 2 curriculum (which is all of the reading and vocabulary assignments from level 2) is now in book form. The 180 days of assignments have been included along with all of the readings. Vocabulary activities and any lessons that were found online were recreated in the book. Here’s a vocabulary matching activity. The students are told to write their answers on a separate piece of paper. Someone’s working on a workbook which will have these vocabulary activities and more.

You can use the book alone, or hop online to play vocabulary review games where indicated, or any time really!

There are not many pictures, but I have included some pictures in the poetry section to help with comprehension.

Two times in the curriculum I tell the kids they can ask someone to read the poem/story to them if they find it difficult. It also mentions where you can listen to the story online.

Answers for the reading comprehension questions and vocabulary exercises are found in the back of the book.

I love what you are doing!! While my son is too old for these readers, I pray these books are a blessing to many families!!!

You amaze me, Lee! I just self published a book through Amazon this week, and while they do make it as easy as possible, I know how much work went into ONE book. You have dozens of books worth of material that you’re entering! You are my hero!

I feel like I”m keeping everyone waiting on books, but I’m literally working every day on these to get them out every two weeks. I do have some EP moms helping me with editing, so I’m not doing it completely on my own.

I was looking at the Kindle version, are we able to see the answers via the Kindle version?

I couldn’t find a way to contact Puzzlefast regarding their workbook for the second reader and was hoping you could forward a message to them. I was previewing the workbook on Amazon and saw a mistake on page 28 on the Jimmy Skunk crossword puzzle. Numbers 2 and 3 down seem to be mis-numbered (reversed). They may be aware of this already but just in case… :0).
Thank you for all of your work in this ministry! It truly is a godsend. We can afford curriculum but organizing and lesson planning for 3 different grades was getting overwhelming. EP frees up so much of my time that I have more time to work individually with my children when it is needed. It also fulfills my girls’ desire to play ‘computer games’ (which we don’t do at our house) and they are learning while they do it! Thank you again. You are a real blessing to our family!

I just started using your website this year. I see your starting workbooks. Do you know what the cost will be and will those be available by the next school year?

      Beth,
The plan is to keep the workbooks available for as long as they are needed. The price is $5.99 now but Lee does not have control over the cost, amazon decides that. I personally do not see the price changing to much in the next year. JR/LG

I have been using EP for the last two years and I love it, my kids love it. But I am confused about these new readers, what are they? and is it a curriculum that my kids are missing out on? Should I be using the books along side the initial daily curriculum? What materials (readers, etc.) do I need for my soon to be 6th and 2nd graders?

They are the same as what you will find on the website for free, except they are in print. You are not missing out on anything.

I just want to double check but are the books included in this? If they are this would be amazing. It would save me the time of finding each book.

Yes! It’s all in there. It’s the whole online course offline. It’s the 180 days with each day having the directions (and any vocabulary) and the reading portion for just that day.
