It seems like almost every day I find something to fix. I fixed a couple of links, added some more direction or a hint where it was needed. If you went ahead, the hieroglyphic ecard link wasn’t working. I changed it to send an email with hieroglyphics. You could also type your name and print it out. I also added looking inside the pyramids. These were all problems that our family found. Please let me know if you find problems. Just leave a comment at the bottom of the page. Thanks.
Get Rid of Ads in Google Chrome
My son showed me this a few days ago, and I have been using it. This just takes one click.

It’s an addon for Chrome that gets rid of ads. It’s not as thorough as the Firefox one and leaves blank black boxes that say “Ad” instead of removing it entirely from the page, but I love being able to protect my kids from ads.
We’ve Started School
We jumped ahead and started school a couple of weeks earlier than planned. If you want to see my family using this curriculum, you can follow my homeschool blog, Just Us. This year we will be using getting ready 1, second, fifth, seventh and year 1.
Get Rid of Google Ads in Firefox
You can get rid of the most intrusive ads (like the picture ads and animated ads) by installing this plugin in firefox. We have started using it and it has worked great. Ads keep things free, which I like, but I don’t like not being able to control the content of the ads. I did research on a constellation and started getting horoscope ads. Because I’m a woman in my 30s, they think I diet (which I never do) and show me girls in bikinis. I wish they would just give us more control. Here’s one way to take control.

Oral Responses
I was just writing up Bible questions and wanted to point something out. There are times when I specially say, “Write…” Other times I just ask questions. My daughter loves to write. Doesn’t type. She writes in cursive in notebooks. She’s my artist. She will write out answers to everything without being told to write out answers. My oldest son hates to write. Types everything, even if it’s just a sentence, unless I make him write by hand. I let him answer a lot of those questions out loud to me. Especially with Bible, I don’t want to make it work. When they are done their day’s work, I have them go through their assignments with me. I open up their page and ask about each thing. My son will tell me the answers to those questions then. That’s fine with me. There are plenty of writing assignments where they need to write out full sentences or paragraphs. You can find what works best for your family.
