The EP Fourth Reader is now available in the EP Store. This is our Reading 4 course in book form. As I was able to work closely again with the course, I made some changes which will be appearing on the Reading 4 and Level 4 pages over the Christmas holiday. I have shortened the length of the some of the daily readings and added in more comprehension questions and narration prompts. Some readings have changed day numbers, but the books are still all in the same order. A Little Princess still starts on Day 101 (as a reference). This will mostly affect The Railway Children and The Peterkin Papers. When you go to your day it won’t put you further into a book than they’ve already gone, but it may give you a chapter you’ve already read. You can not have reading that day, read the chapter again, or decide to skip forward.

Level 4 will be the first to try out our new EP Book Spot, where we will be hosting our readings from the public domain, so we won’t have to worry about archive.org going down or links changing on us. And, I am going to try to update the computer course, as I originally made it before they updated to Scratch 2.0.

As for the reader, here it is. Like the others is has all 180 days of assignments from the reading course with the readings and vocabulary exercises built right into the book.

These vocabulary exercises are made to be done on a separate piece of paper. At my request, a family has made us workbooks that match the vocabulary in these readers. They are beautifully done. There are activities that match what’s in the readers and then more for when the reader says to go back and review your words.

This reader, like the the others, has the answers to the vocabulary and reading comprehension questions in the back. (The pictures are all from an earlier version of the reader that I used for proofreading.)

This book got too long, and I had to split it in half. If you are already halfway through the course, you can just pick up part two, but consider getting the vocabulary workbook along with it if you don’t want to use the online review games since most if not all vocabulary activities are in the first half. In the second half they are just told to review their words. Please pay attention to which one you are ordering. They are split right down the middle, Days 1-90 and Days 91-180.
