Speak Up for Parent Rights

The Bills Died! Yeah! Thank you to all the California homeschoolers who showed up to fight the bills in person! Thank you to everyone who signed. They told me the signatures had stopped coming in and they were about 5000 away from their goal. After I told EP about it, they got over 6000 more signatures.

There are two bills being heard next week in California. They are threats to parent rights and are specifically aimed against homeschoolers.

If the one bill passes, it would impose on homeschoolers home safety and health checks, curriculum standards, and credentialing of the homeschool teacher.

Please sign the petition to help stop these absurd requirements that assume a parent has no place teaching their own children.

“What occurs in California has a significant impact on the rest of the nation because of its size and media influence. It is imperative that these two bills be defeated for the good of homeschoolers everywhere.” Mike Smith of the HSLDA

Here’s the petition to sign. You just need to enter your name and email address in the top right corner. Just takes a sec. You don’t have to have your name listed on the website.

I know EP users can make a big impact on the number who sign the petition. Let’s get it done. Thanks for taking the time to take a stand for homeschooling everywhere.

Wonderful news! Thanks for update; I signed and was wondering about the outcome. Also, I’m looking forward to using EP for my son in the fall (5th grade). Thank you for all the work you’ve put into this curriculum and especially for offering it for free!
