Bits and Pieces

A couple of people have told me that the Mr. Donn website was down. I wrote to them and got an email back. They are just having some technical difficulties and will be back soon, so we’ll just hang in there and wait for them to get it fixed. If you come across one of their pages in your school today, Kids Konnect and Ducksters are two alternative websites you could try for any information you need.

My son, Nathaniel, is still in the hospital. He had surgery to place a shunt in his brain on Friday and is doing well. We’re hoping he will be coming home this week.

I am updating third grade weekly as I complete more assignments, and I’m adding answer keys to eighth grade English as my mother (here visiting) does the reading for me 🙂 She formerly was a high school English teacher. She finds Shakespeare and ancient writings much more exciting than I do 🙂

I have been checking out your page for several days now trying to decide what to do for my seventh grader this fall. We have always used a structured cuuriculum and my state requires standardized testing. My question for you is, have you had your children take standardized tests, and how did they do after using this way of homeschooling?

My kids have done exceptionally well. But as I say on the about page, I make no claims for how your children would score.

I am so very sorry to hear what your family is experiencing. I will pray for your son and your family. I can’t imagine having not been able to hold your son yet. Please try to remember and find comfort in the fact that God is holding your son and He will guide the Doctors in their decision making.
God Bless you and your family

Praying for your son. I couldn’t even begin to imagine. May God bless and keep you all in HIS care. Thank you for making all this available. It’s been a vast incredible resource.

Oh, my! I can’t imagine not being able to hold your newborn! I hope you will be able to have a lot of skin to skin contact when you get him home to help the bonding process. This poor little guy has had a lot of trauma in his young life.
