A couple of people have told me that the Mr. Donn website was down. I wrote to them and got an email back. They are just having some technical difficulties and will be back soon, so we’ll just hang in there and wait for them to get it fixed. If you come across one of their pages in your school today, Kids Konnect and Ducksters are two alternative websites you could try for any information you need.
My son, Nathaniel, is still in the hospital. He had surgery to place a shunt in his brain on Friday and is doing well. We’re hoping he will be coming home this week.
I am updating third grade weekly as I complete more assignments, and I’m adding answer keys to eighth grade English as my mother (here visiting) does the reading for me 🙂 She formerly was a high school English teacher. She finds Shakespeare and ancient writings much more exciting than I do 🙂
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. We pray that Nathaniel’s surgery is a success and that he comes home quickly. We appreciate you and your family for all you do. God bless you all. Kimberly
So glad to hear the surgery went well. Praying he is able to come home soon. Thank you for all that you do!!
Thanks for all of your hard work. More importantly I wanted you to know that we pray for your family often and have been praying for Nathaniel. Praying that he will be able to come home soon too.
Thank you for remembering us in your prayers. Nathaniel is five weeks old and I have yet to hold him!
So glad to hear that your sweet boy is doing better. I pray that he will get to come home very soon! Thank you so much for all you do…your site has been a true blessing for my family!
I wanted to ditto Veronica. My gratitude to you for your (and your mom’s) hard work. My heart goes out to you during this time and I pray that God is holding you while you can’t hold Nathaniel.
What a blessing you are still adding lessons while having your children go through surgery. Thank you for being so giving. Prayers for your little guy 🙂
I and a few of my friends recently came across your site and are tremendously thankful. You have and continue to do an amazing job on your curriculum and we are so grateful!! Praying for you and your precious little one. God Bless You!!!
I have been checking out your page for several days now trying to decide what to do for my seventh grader this fall. We have always used a structured cuuriculum and my state requires standardized testing. My question for you is, have you had your children take standardized tests, and how did they do after using this way of homeschooling?
My kids have done exceptionally well. But as I say on the about page, I make no claims for how your children would score.
I am so very sorry to hear what your family is experiencing. I will pray for your son and your family. I can’t imagine having not been able to hold your son yet. Please try to remember and find comfort in the fact that God is holding your son and He will guide the Doctors in their decision making.
God Bless you and your family
Praying for your son. I couldn’t even begin to imagine. May God bless and keep you all in HIS care. Thank you for making all this available. It’s been a vast incredible resource.
Oh, my! I can’t imagine not being able to hold your newborn! I hope you will be able to have a lot of skin to skin contact when you get him home to help the bonding process. This poor little guy has had a lot of trauma in his young life.
