Where does our worth come from?

A disciple is not greater than his master. We’re told we will be maligned. That’s our lot in life.

But it’s also our lot in life to have a Father in heaven who knows even the number of hairs on our head. He knows what’s going on. He sees the persecution. He doesn’t stop it, but He cares. He knows what’s going on. He sees your worth.

Who is not worthy of God is the one who avoids persecution by denying God. Jesus will deny him before the Father. “I never knew this one.” You don’t want Jesus to say that about you!

Who is not worthy is the one who decides the people in this world are of more importance than God.

Who is not worthy is the one who fears man over God.

Who is not worthy is the one who loves his life and refuses to lay it down for God.

Who is worthy is not only the prophet and the righteous person, but those who recognize that God has come in the flesh, come in these servants of God, and welcomes them, provides for them, cares for them.

Who is worthy is the one who gives up his own life to follow Jesus, who carries his cross to his death to live as Christ in this world.

Who is worthy is the one who acknowledges God before men.

Will you stand up for the cause of Christ? Will you let other causes fall by the wayside to keep Christ as the one of importance, the one high and lifted up? Will you honor His name above all?

Will you care for God’s children and His faithful servants?

Will you fear God alone?

Do you accept your lot in life, to be like your master? To identify with His suffering and not just His glory?
