What If We Don’t Finish?

“It’s the end of our school year and we aren’t finished yet, what do we need to do? Can we just skip forward to the next level?”
We see this question a lot and here are some ideas.
1: If you are very close to the end of a course and don’t want to continue over the summer or pick up where you left off in the fall, look through the rest of the lessons and see what may be new to your student or what they still need work on and focus on those lessons. There are often end-of-year projects that may be able to be condensed to help you finish off the year.
2: If you aren’t at the end, either keep going over the summer, double up days to finish at a quicker pace, or start where you left off in the fall.
3: If you are halfway or less, it may be a great time to review some of the already completed lessons, pause for your break, then start back up where you left off in the fall.
“I heard public schools never finish their curriculum.”
That may or may not be the case for each public school course. However, Easy Peasy isn’t designed for public schools. It’s designed for homeschoolers! Yay! The Easy Peasy curriculum often continues to teach new skills all the way to the end of the course, skills that will be needed for the next level up. This is especially true for math and language arts.
Ultimately, it’s your decision as the parent and teacher. You know your student best.
