As I was reading Isaiah 60, this phrase made me smile, “I will make the place of my feet glorious.”
I was thinking, we’re the feet. He is the head; we’re the body. The beautiful feet are those bringing His good news to others.
This passage is talking about Israel and its restoration. I do believe Jesus will literally reign in Jerusalem and it will be resplendent.
I also believe that all believers are part of Israel and we partake of such promises as these.
We will have Peace and Righteousness reigning over us. He will be our light and glory.
The Lord says, “I am the Lord; in its time I will hasten it.”
The Lord has been patient, not willing that any should perish. He wants all to come to repentance. But when the time comes, He will bring it about quickly.
We see revivals happen throughout Israel’s history. In one day things turn around. In a couple of weeks the temple was cleansed and renewed. God has things prepared so that He can turn things quickly. He’s got it all well in hand.
I read verse two as a revival verse. “For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.”
Tribulation, troubles are coming to the earth. Darkness will cover the earth. But there will be a light. It will be in you if you surrender your life over and let the life of Christ shine in and through you.
Jesus comes in His people before He comes for His people. And what happens when there is a bright light? It draws to itself. The “nations shall come to your light.” The tribulation will come with a great revival among the nations. They will be drawn to the light of Christ.
Will you be shining His light?
