The Measuring Line

Jerusalem is going to be measured. Why would it be measured? We’re then told that it’s going to be a town without walls because there will be so many people in it and the Lord Himself will be its wall, a wall of fire around it.

If there is no border, how is it being measured? I find it curious. Is it being measured to see if it has reached its fullness?

The full measure of the Gentiles needs to be reached before Christ returns and God turns the hearts of the Jews back to Himself.

There is a warning to escape to Zion. Run to the Rock. Run to the Mountain of the Lord, His holy habitation. Hide in His shelter. He is your defense. You are the apple of His eye. He will plunder those who troubled you.

There will be a physical dwelling of Christ with us and us united with God for eternity.

It ends with a command for all flesh to be silent. The Lord has roused Himself. When the Lord is on the march, the world shakes! Be silent. The Lord fights for you. Hold your peace.

As new covenant believers, we live in the promise of God dwelling with us. We live with His intimate presence at all times by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

We should always be living like He’s right there with us, because He is. Talk to Him like He’s right there with you. Talk to Him frequently like there’s someone right there with you, because there is!

We also have the Lord of Hosts, the God Almighty as our wall of fire. He is our defense. He will defend His Beloved.

Rest in His presence and protection.
