I don’t know what else to write about this chapter of lot division except for this last line, that the name of that city from that day on will be “The Lord is There.”
Have you reached the place in your spiritual life where you can say that from this day on the Lord is there?
When you pray, does He speak? Does He answer your questions? Not that I can get the Lord to tell me whatever I want to know, but He doesn’t remain silent. He will answer. I will hear His voice. I may have to keep reading in my Bible for a bit before He answers, but He will answer.
Can you look up and see Him smiling at you?
Or, do you pray and feel like your prayers are hitting the ceiling sometimes instead of praying and feeling like you are in conversation?
Do you know His comfort? If you are upset, does He calm you? Do you experience His keeping? Can you see how He keeps you from sin and the flesh and the world? Do you see His intervention in your day-to-day life? Is that your normal life?
Do you see the miracles? Do you see love gifts from a Father just taking care of His child?
When you dwell with the Almighty, you can live always in His presence. There’s no need to ever reconnect or get back into His presence. You are always there and can instantly be there by just turning your attention to Him.
How can you dwell in the Presence of the Most High God? You must be holy. You must live blameless before Him.
Blameless means no consciousness of sin. You aren’t making any conscious choice of sin. There may be an area of struggle, but you have confessed it and repented, choosing to turn away from it and have asked the Lord to deliver you from it and together you are putting it to death.
Holy is set apart. I know I’ve said it many times. We need to be set apart from sin, self, and the world and set apart unto God. Ask God to remove all sin, self, and the world. Want it gone. Don’t hold onto anything. Nothing is dear but the Lord Himself.
