The Lord is speaking of the future in Isaiah 4.

He will judge and cleanse.

The result will be that all who are called to life will be clean. Filth will be removed.

He will be a covering over His people to be a refuge and a shelter. It will protect His people from the rain, from the storm, and from the heat.

Do you have any trials and troubles you are in? Is there any rain, any storm, and pressure of the heat?

He is a covering.

Those things certainly exist, but they aren’t to touch you. You may hear it. You may understand what they would mean to you if they could touch you, but if we can know we are covered and keep that knowledge from causing worry and fear or anger and offense, then we can walk with our head high knowing that we are covered, protected, sheltered.

If anything wants to get to us, it’s got to go through Jesus. What are the chances He’s a strong defense?

The branch of the Lord will be glorious. We can say that Jesus is the glorious branch, but we are one with Christ. We are one with Him now. How much more after our wedding supper and coming into our glorified state? When we are one with Him, then we are one with the glorified branch. We will be beautiful and glorious.

We can shine that beautiful and good light now. The more the flesh is crucified through faith in the completed work of Christ on the cross, the more we can let His light shine.
