The Finger of God

Jesus says He casts out demons by the finger of God. We need to only cast out demons at the finger of God, never on our own. Deliverance ministry is not a ministry gift in the church. You won’t see it on any list in the Bible.

Only twice I have been part of casting out a demon from someone and both times they were then immediately filled with the Holy Spirit. The one wanted to be set free. The other had just been baptized, still in the water.

Christians don’t need deliverance. They need repentance. They need to know the truth that Jesus already saved them.

And with repentance is blessing.

And the blessed, the obedient to God’s word, are full of light. And if you are full of light, then the Father will hold you up for all to see His glorious Son shining through you. It’s not the lamp that puts itself on a stand. It’s the owner of the lamp.

If you are full of light, you won’t be like the Pharisees who are hypocrites, trying to act all righteous, but are wicked on the inside.

If you want to be clean on the inside, Jesus gives this directive. “Give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything is clean for you.” The NKJV says, “But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.”

What does it mean though? How do we get clean on the inside?

Well, what does it mean to give as alms? Alms are charitable giving to the poor.

We give of our hearts to the poor, which will sound like loving words and look like loving actions. Love is the fulfillment of the law. Love covers a multitude of sins. We are clean when we are loving.
