The Distress Call

We see the separation again. Some are experiencing God’s wrath. Some are experiencing His compassion.

Some will be honored and multiplied and established. They will sing songs of celebration and thanksgiving.

Others had counted them out. People had said that no one cared for them. It was a lie. God cares for His people. When things seem all wrong, God hasn’t stopped caring about His child. Believe. Call on Him. Seek. Find. Wait. Be restored.

The Lord will give a just punishment to the nations who have hurt His people. That’s His work. It’s not our job to exact revenge. He will handle justice.

The command to His own people is to not be afraid, to not be dismayed. They are to believe that they have a Savior and that He is with them to save them.

God’s people will serve God.

But what’s happening right before then?

It’s a time of distress that’s so great there’s no other day like it.

The promise is that they will be saved out of their distress.

Who do you call upon when you are in distress? Do you call upon the Lord? Do you then wait on the Lord? Do you trust that He’ll save you out of it? Or do you call on some other “savior” first and then call on the Lord for help too. Are you looking to multiple saviors?

When you are in distress can you call on the Lord and find rest, find hope, find peace, find joy, even before the deliverance?

How can we live in that in a time of distress?

Because we have a Savior. And our Savior is faithful and true and powerful and loving. He is our God and we are His people. He is mighty to save.
