One of the judgments against the false prophets is that they have not built up a wall for the house of Israel so that it might stand in battle in the day of the Lord.
The day of the Lord is when the Lord comes to judge. They aren’t going to be able to stand because of false visions and lies.
What would the wall be that would enable them to stand? What is a wall for? It was a defense against an enemy. The wall wasn’t to keep out the Lord. The wall was to keep out an enemy. They let in lies instead of keeping them away.
They didn’t build a wall because they lied. The wall of defense then would have been the truth.
In the New Testament when it talks about tearing down strongholds, it’s about knowing and teaching the truth. It’s the truth that sets free, that delivers from an enemy.
We need to know and proclaim God’s words, not our own.
With so many teachers out there, it can be hard to know if you are hearing God’s word.
We have the gift of the Scriptures in our own language and the ability to hear it or read it. We can learn God’s word for ourselves.
The people are hearing lies and are disheartened, but God delivers His people. He won’t leave them as prey for the false teachers.
Keep looking to God for truth. Don’t search for it from man. Let Him guide you to teachers when the time is right for receiving teaching, but don’t seek from them. Always seek from God.
