Things get worse. I don’t know why the king didn’t fear the rumor about someone coming to kill him. It was true, and he dies.
The murderer isn’t in charge for long. He ends up fleeing. But now the rest of them are feeling stuck because the man Babylon put in charge has been murdered. They don’t wait to see if that is a problem for Babylon. Their minds have decided it is. They are afraid, and they make a plan to get out of their dread.
When you have the negative feeling, don’t react in the flesh to get out of it. Don’t let it drive your decisions. We don’t make decisions based on feelings.
You work on your thoughts that are bringing those negative feelings. If you change the thoughts, the feelings will eventually follow.
They are acting on a fear that is just in their heads. There is nothing happening to them. They could be living just fine, but they are living in fear.
How often are we the cause of our own problems? How often can we drive ourselves crazy even make ourselves sick with worry over something that never ends up happening?
They would have no problem except that they made a problem for themselves by being afraid and acting on the fear.
The Ethiopian that saved Jeremiah was afraid, but he trusted God above any feelings, did the right thing, and was saved.
They make the fear worse by making a plan driven by fear. God is our head. We follow Jesus. When we’re letting fear drive our decisions, we’re being driven as a slave to fear.
How can you get free from slavery to fear? Know your God. Make the choice each day to trust and follow Him. Make deliberate choices to not obey the fear-driven thoughts. Do the opposite and be stubborn about it.
Keep your thoughts on things above. Renew your mind with Scripture. The Truth will set you free.
