Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Freedom from the law, doesn’t mean freedom to do the things your flesh desires.

vs. 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

Our freedom is for a purpose, and it’s not ourselves.

vs. 13 …do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Serving one another starts with having the Life of Christ in you, which starts with the death of yourself.

vs. 24 …those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If your passions and desires aren’t dead, you need to take them to the cross and get them buried. When we have crucified flesh and self, we make way for the life of Christ to resurrect in us. It’s His life, so it looks like Him. When we list attributes of God, we can list things like loving, good, kind, faithful, gentle, patient. Living by the Spirit, means displaying God to the world. Jesus was the image of the invisible God. We’re the image of Christ on the earth now. Our lives should put Him on display.

vs. 22-23 …the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control.
