Ecc. 1:14 I have seen everything that is done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind.

Ecclesiastes is such an important lesson. I don’t know why it doesn’t get more attention. Nothing of earth matters. Only eternity matters. Nothing of earth matters. One of the ways our family has a slow, unbusy life is that our kids are in no activities. So unamerican. We don’t feel the need. What we do do is have every meal together (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). At lunch we can spend an hour together, going outside to hang out after eating. At dinner we can spend an hour together, after the meal reading the Bible and praying and singing.

What matters? What does your time, money, and energy go to?

Ecc. 2:24 There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil…

My husband and I love our work. We don’t take vacations. God gave us our work; we work for Him, not man. We’re not going to take a break from serving the Lord. When the Lord gave us our Finland vacation, while on vacation, I went on a fast, got a new direction from the Lord, and started writing a new curriculum. And I loved every second of it and don’t regret a moment. I love the job He’s given me!
