Rebuilding the Wall

Everyone is working on rebuilding the wall, each individually, yet all together.

This is a picture of building the kingdom of God.

We’re each given gifts. We’re each given a territory to work in. We build where we’re placed. Others work in other places. We’re all building the temple of God; we’re all building up the body of Christ.

Not everyone has the same gift. Not everyone has the same calling. Some will work with children. Some will work with the elderly. Some will teach. Some will evangelize. Some will stay in their neighborhood. Some will go to the ends of the earth.

That’s how we’re supposed to operate, each working in cooperation with the Spirit, doing our own thing that the Lord has given us but along in cooperation with the whole.

As I’m writing this in March of 2023, revival meetings are breaking out around the country. One of the markers of it is the individuals working in cooperation with the Spirit to do what they are led to do, and it all working in cooperation with the group and for the mutual benefit and building up of everyone.

One stands and sings and others join in. One stands and reads a Scripture. One stands and gives a short exhortation. One stands and prays. It’s unordered order. It’s being led by the Spirit instead of the plans and designs of men.

It only happens when there is a group of people submitted to the lordship of Christ and the move of the Spirit. It happens when there is a group of people enamored by His love instead with themselves. It happens when a group of people set their hearts on God’s purposes and seeing His kingdom rule on earth, and have let go of their own plans, desires, goals, and purposes. It happens when a group of people see themselves as belonging to God as the one, true body of Christ.
