Precious Faith

I enjoy the way Peter talks about things. I love all the Scripture that say “for HIS sake” and things like “cause me” or “make me.” I don’t want it to rely on me. I want it to rely on Him completely!

Peter is writing to the elect. Those chosen. Those known to God from before the beginning.

Peter writes that according to God’s mercy, God caused us to be born again. He chose for us an inheritance that will never go away. It’s kept for us and we are kept as well, by God’s own power.

We can rejoice in what God has done, is doing, and will do for us.

There is always a reason to rejoice because God is always God and He is always your God.

There may be trials, but only if necessary. Our lives aren’t random. God watches over His children.

Our faith is tested by trials, but a proven faith is more precious than gold.

Faith in one not seen allows us to love Him. His love allows us to rejoice with inexpressible joy. We are saved!

Keep focused on Jesus and His grace to make you holy. We are conformed to the holy image of Christ, not the things of this world. “Conduct yourselves with fear.” We are judged by our deeds. Rely on Jesus to make you holy. The command is to be holy because God is holy. Jesus is our sanctification. He separates us from the world and to Himself. Give up this world. Give up your life and join it to Jesus.

We were bought out of this world with the blood of Jesus so that we could have hope.

Our souls are purified by our “obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love.” Our purification by the blood of Jesus is for loving. Love the Brethren from a pure heart.

We can love because we were first loved. That’s the Good News that will remain forever.
