We can drift away from the message of the gospel. Transgressors are punished. They will receive a just return for their deeds. We’re asked, “How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?”
Jesus is the way of escape. Abide in Christ, remain in Him, and we escape with Him to where He is in the heavenly places.
Jesus is crowned in glory because he tasted death for everyone (Hebrews 2:9). Share the gospel freely. Jesus died for that person and His heart is that the person be saved. That doesn’t mean they will, but it means that God so loved that person that He sent His Son for them and He sends you to share the love.
Jesus was made perfect in suffering. He was sinless. He was perfect. But He wasn’t complete in His time on earth until He suffered. He had to complete the human experience and He had to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. On the cross Jesus said, “It is finished.” It was complete, perfect.
In His death, Jesus destroyed the devil and his power of death. In doing so, He delivered from the fear of death those who come out from slavery through Jesus Christ.
Jesus wasn’t made like an angel, but like a human, in every respect except for a sin nature.
Because Jesus suffered, He is a merciful high priest. He can help us when we are tempted because He suffered through temptation.
Do you know when Jesus suffered the most through temptation? He was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, but He relied on the truth of Scripture to set Him free. That wasn’t the hardest temptation.
It was in the garden when He sweat blood that He fought against sin to the point of bloodshed. It was really the only time He was tempted to His own will, but again and again He made the choice of His Father’s will until He had it settled.
