The bride is called “my perfect one.” Do you see yourself as perfect?
There is a command in Scriptures to “be perfect,” in Matthew 5:48.
Are you Christ’s perfect one?
How can Jesus see us as perfect?
Hebrews 10:14 says, “For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.”
Jesus can see us as perfect because He made us perfect, and perfect for all time. There is a process as well, being made sanctified, but since Jesus has become our sanctification, according to 1 Corinthians 1:30, we have that covered as well.
Christ is our perfection because He is the perfect one.
We not only have our sins forgiven. We have them washed away so we are clean. We also are given Holy Spirit power to overcome sin.
But beyond even those precious, priceless gifts, we are clothed with Christ, with His righteousness. We are given His righteousness to walk in, but by being clothed with Christ, we are in Christ, even hidden in Christ. When the Father looks at us, He sees His perfect Son.
When Jesus joins Himself to us, for we are one with Christ, abiding in Him and Him in us, He can see us as one and see His perfect life in us, because it’s there!
There’s another perfection taking place as well.
There will be one bride. There will be one body. The Church, the full collection of true believers, are the one body of Christ. Christ will be the head.
We will be perfect, because we will be complete. The bride ultimate is the one body of Christ, us becoming one just as Jesus prayed for us (John 17:21).
