“Lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet…”
If we are the Body of Christ, what are the hands and knees and feet? Other believers. We need to strengthen one another. We need to encourage one another. We need to correct, exhort, teach, rebuke one another. Why? Because we are one Body. What affects one, affects all. We don’t want to limp along out of joint. We want to be healed and whole.
We seek for peace with all. We don’t want to put any body part out of joint.
We’re to “see to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God.” We are to look out for each other. We need to help others see their sin and get free of it.
God’s job is heart work, but He uses His servants. We use God’s Word to bring truth to people.
We need to always demonstrate and encourage unity, which will mean forgiving one another and bearing with one another. That forgiving attitude that doesn’t hold onto offense is what will protect us from any bitterness taking root.
We need to warn of sin because God won’t allow for it. We can’t choose sin and God.
Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
We can’t live in sin and expect to be united with Christ.
We can’t treat God lightly. His mercy is a weighty matter. It can’t be treated flippantly.
God is holy, set apart. If we don’t submit to His purposes and discipline, we will not be holy and be with Him.
We need the fear of the Lord. Fear knowing that if God doesn’t keep you and bring you to Himself, you are eternally lost.
He grants the blessing of eternal life. In Christ alone is salvation. Give Him your life. It’s the only way to save it.
