God’s timing isn’t random. He does things on time and on purpose. So much of Israel’s history, even into modern times, involves very specific days. Jesus isn’t coming back at any time. He’s coming back on time.
The whole of Ezekiel 40 is measurement of the temple.
The temple has a specific measure. Who is the temple?
We are the temple, individually and collectively.
1 Corinthians 6:19 “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.”
Ephesians 2:21-22 (BSB) “In Him the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together into a dwelling place for God in His Spirit.” And we have a specific measure.
Ephesians 4:11-13 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of
the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
What measure is God’s temple supposed to take on? It takes on the measure of Christ.
Our temple is complete when we reach the full measure of the stature of Christ.
We are to become like Jesus. As the Church we’re to become like Jesus. We can’t reach the full measure of Christ’s stature alone. It is about all of us coming together to form the one body of Christ.
We need to not be seeking just to build up ourselves and our personal relationship with God; we’re to be building up each other into His image as well. We’re to be joined and knit together. We’re all in this together.
