October 4

It was the prepositions that caught my attention this morning, “to the Lord” and “for him.”

Jer. 4:4  Circumcise yourselves to the Lord…

We are holy to the Lord, consecrated to the Lord. We are separated not just from the world, but to God. We’re not just delivered from the “domain of darkness” but transferred to God’s kingdom. There’s a direction we’re headed, a purpose in everything we do. We cut off the flesh because we’ve joined ourselves to Christ.

Col. 1:16 …all things were created … for him.

There’s a purpose in everything you do because you were created for a purpose. You were created for Him. How does your life reflect your stated purpose? Think through the things you do throughout the day. Are you doing them for the Lord or for yourself? Does the Lord drive your choices throughout the day because you’ve circumcised yourself to Him? Who are you living for moment to moment?
