Psalm 103:4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.
I thought I’d try and write a parable for today. Here’s what came out.
The Parable of the Jack-O-Lantern
Jack was pleased to have been plucked from the muddy patch. He had been chosen. He was brought home and set aside. He had to wait and wait. Then one day he was lifted up and brought to the table. A sharp knife went into him. His top was removed and then he was scraped clean. So much muck was tossed out. There were more cuts. Admittedly, they could be somewhat painful, but at last it was announced that he was ready. He was set where all who passed by could see him and a light was placed inside of him. And from that day on, especially when it was darkest, Jack’s light shined for all to see.
