Jeremiah 36:26 …but the Lord hid them.

The Lord has it in His power to hide us from trouble, so when trouble strikes, we can know God allowed it to happen for His glorious purposes and for our good, not harm. He’s not approving of evil, but He’s certainly after our salvation. He’s after getting us for Himself and will use troubles to sanctify us unto Himself.

He will teach us His ways, but it comes to a point where He will require we walk in them. And He will use an enemy to turn us to Him and His ways when we need it. An enemy got through our first year in Turkey. Baby was screaming and wouldn’t stop. I called a friend to pray. As soon as she started praying, the baby stopped and I started shaking. I asked the Lord if there was anything needing repenting. It was disrespecting Dave with a comment I made. I repented and praised the Lord until the shaking was gone, never to return. I had been angry at Dave’s selfishness that was hurting me, but that was exactly when God chose to start requiring respect of me.
