Isaiah 64:7-8 …you have hidden your face from us, and have made us melt in the hand of our iniquities. But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.

I thought it interesting connecting these two verses. You’ll have to give me a little leeway because when clay is heated it hardens instead of melts, but I was thinking of the Lord showing us our sin, allowing us to see what’s in our hearts to melt us, to make us more pliable, more easily molded into His image. Seeing your sin should “melt” you. I know I can be reduced to a weepy puddle on the floor when the Lord shows me I’ve missed the mark. But the Lord isn’t trying to cut you down. He’s trying to shape you, probably answering those prayers of yours to become like Jesus.

Psalm 73:25  Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.

If your heart’s desire is Jesus, He will give you Himself. It will all be used to give you that greatest gift of God Himself in and through you.
