James 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

James 2:21-23 Was not Abraham our father justified by works…? …faith was completed by his works; …and he was called a friend of God.

Are you a friend of God? Abraham was called a friend of God because of what he did.

John 15:14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.

You don’t get to call yourself God’s friend if you don’t walk in obedience with your actions.

The heart certainly matters, but our lives show what’s in our hearts. Your actions show what you truly believe. God looks to see what we do. It shows Him our hearts.

…He considers all their works (Ps. 33:15).

…then He will reward each person according to what He has done (Matt. 16:27).

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil (2 Cor. 5:10).
