Proverbs 28:1 The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
The autobiography I am reading now is by Darlene Deibler. The book is “Evidence Not Seen.” She was a missionary in New Guinea when WWII broke out and she ended up in a Japanese prison camp. At one point she is brought before an executioner who draws his sword to chop off her head. Then a car pulls up and there’s a sudden scramble and she is grabbed and thrown into a car and they take off. She asked the Lord, “What just happened?” This is the verse that comes to mind. The Lord made them flee a pursuer that wasn’t there. It reminded me of the story in 2 Kings where the Lord causes the Assyrians to hear a rumor that makes them turn back to their own land.
