Heb. 12:1-3 …let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus…
My gentleness lesson meant slander attacks, four of them, with about a week’s break in between them, January into June. I learned the lesson in the second attack and then got practice, though not achieving the “steady heart” we read in Ps. 112, still having an initial heart reaction, but able to control the response.
Then the attacks of the mind that made up my summer started. In April and May, the Lord kept saying to me, “Look to Me and be radiant.” I didn’t know what He was asking me to do until the first attack came, and I figured it out quick. The Lord is so good to me that a stranger told me I was glowing. In September, the nature of the attacks changed again. It’s definitely been a year of endurance training.
It’s hard, but like I asked for gentleness, I keep asking to be like Jesus. The world doesn’t need me, but it desperately needs Jesus, and I want to give Him to them.
