I’m looking at conjunctions today.

So: Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, he stayed two days longer.

Why did Jesus delay in coming? Because He loved them. That’s what God is up to when He seems to let things go all wrong. He’s loving His children.

But: My brother would not have died. But even now I know…

She determinedly holds onto faith in God even when her prayers weren’t answered as expected. She doesn’t have faith for his life back, but faith in God.

And: “The Teacher is calling for you.” And she rose quickly and went to him.

This is the proper response-go quickly when called. The Lord has trained me in getting up from bed quickly when called. I used to drag myself out of bed by saying, “Only ‘cause I love You.”

For: There will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.

Man’s understanding distracts us from seeing what God is doing. Lean not on your own understanding…

Back to So: “If you believed, you would see the glory of God?” So they took away the stone.

The faith response is making a determination to obey even when it makes no sense. They didn’t have to be full of faith that he would be alive in there. They just needed the faith to obey.
