Life Witness

What does your life witness to? The church in Thessalonica is an example to the other churches.

They have a testimony. They turned from idols to serve God.

Part of their testimony was their going through affliction with joy. In Acts 17, we read about Paul preaching in Thessalonica and people coming to Christ. Then a mob forms and attacks the house of Jason and some of the Christians are dragged to the rulers of the city. They seem to have to pay a fine to be released.

When you have peace and joy in suffering, you are an example. People notice. I was in the hospital with my son. He was to have brain surgery. The nurse noticed how calm I was. People notice your life. We have a neighbor who says we’re the happiest family she’s ever seen. She just sees us walking the dog. People notice. You are a witness.

Does your life shine the light of Christ or do you look like the world in your attitudes?

What else did their lives witness to? Their work of faith, labor of love, and steadfastness of hope in Jesus.

Do you keep steadfast in your hope or are you up and down, not sure you can hold onto hope in a perfect God who cannot fail?

Do you labor in love or do you burn out because it’s not truly the love of God that’s compelling you forward?

Do you do the work of faith? What’s that? Do you, in faith, allow God to work through you? Do you have a gifting, a ministry from the Lord, and trust Him to work in and through you?

Everyone has ministry from the Lord, people put in front of you to love, needs you’re aware of that need meeting, believers in your life who need encouragement, lost souls who need to hear about Jesus.

May your life be a witness of the glory of Jesus Christ. May the power of the resurrection shine through your life.
