…Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?

2 Kings 1:3 ESV

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

Psalm 139:1, 5 ESV

When we have a God this close, this intimately acquainted with us, who is close enough to touch us and knows our hearts better than we do, why do we turn elsewhere with our questions?

If God knows all things, why do we seek the understanding of “experts” when we have a problem? Why do we read blogs and ask friends their advice? Why do we search the internet for answers when we have a God who knows and cares about what’s going on?

Why do we seek the wisdom of the world when we have the only one who is truly wise by our side?

Or, why do we turn our problems over in our heads, seeking out our own thoughts on the matter?

Do you believe He knows the solution?

Do you believe He cares about your problem?

Do you believe He loves you enough personally to come to your aid?

Do you believe He is willing to help?

Do you believe He is able to help?

Do you believe He is big enough, powerful enough, smart enough to be able to effectively communicate the solution?

Then why seek elsewhere?
