…have cast me behind your back.

1 Kings 14:9 ESV

You can set the Lord before you or cast Him behind your back. The difference would be what you’re setting your eyes on.

Psalm 25 says my eyes are always on the Lord for He will pluck my feet from the net. Hebrews mentions the sin that so easily entangles, but there is a rescuer who plucks us out. We keep our eyes on Him and are freed. We don’t cast Him behind us and surrender to the net. One is life. One is destruction.

In Galatians 5:14, we’re told that the law is fulfilled in just one commandment, to love your neighbor as yourself.

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!

Psalm 133:1 ESV

That’s the goal, oneness with Christ individually that we may be one with each other. We can have unity because we are one body with one head if we are of one spirit.

Beware of anything that’s trying to mess with oneness in Christ.

Satan’s not after any of us. He’s after Christ in us. That’s why he comes with temptations in the hope of putting out that light in us by sin. If he can’t manage that, he will try the next best thing and try to divide us. Satan has a bigger fear than Christ in us. It’s Christ in all of us acting as the one, true body of Christ.
