…Philistines went up to search for David. But David heard of it and went out against them.
1 Chronicles 14:8 ESV
I liked this bold offensive.
Attacks shouldn’t make us shrink back or quiet down. They should spur us on to boldness.
There is a phenomenon where the near miss emboldens. In London in WWII, they had the German bombers flying over trying to devastate, but with every explosion, those who were missed felt more and more invincible.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…
Romans 1:16 ESV
We’re the ones with the power. We should be the ones speaking with boldness and authority if we believe we have the message that saves.
There may be those like the Philistines seeking us as enemies, but the truth is everyone is seeking the salvation we have to offer. Everyone goes after the things God made us to long for like love, joy, peace, belonging, identity, so we’d hunger for and be satisfied in Him who is the fullness of all we could ever desire.
