Columbus was the first to introduce horses into the New World.

Columbus always thought he was in Asia when he discovered different islands and places in Central and South America. He never knew the truth.

He never entered North America.

After he died, his body was buried and then moved several times and today no one knows where he is.

Colorado was the first state to celebrate Columbus Day.

President FDR made it a national holiday in 1937 but not every state celebrates.
