The Beloved comes and asks His bride to let Him in. Again, we see Jesus at the door knocking, having been shut out.
The bride doesn’t want to bother letting Him in. It’s inconvenient.
Where do you see Christ as an inconvenience in your life? I hope you don’t, but think about it.
God wants us to give up everything for Him, for you to let nothing else be more important to you.
What wouldn’t you want to give up? That’s your inconvenience. That’s the thing you are holding onto instead of running to the door and flinging it wide open for your Love to come in.
Choose God! Choose to love Him alone! If you feel like you can’t give up whatever it is, then ask for God’s help to give it up. Tell Him you want it gone from your life, but you can’t get rid of it. If your heart is choosing Him, He will help you.
It could even be things like comfort, security, your plans for your children’s future, etc. Give everything up into His loving hands. He’s there wanting to do nothing but love you. Let Him love you fully and don’t hold anything back.
Fling wide the door.
That makes me think of Psalm 24:7. This is the Good News Translation. “Fling wide the gates, open the ancient doors, and the great king will come in.”
The great king wants to come to you. He wants to be with you. Don’t find it inconvenient to get less sleep or to give up scrolling or streaming to have more time with Him!
Desire to be with Him.
Fling wide the gate!
