“And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God” (Exodus 29:46, ESV).
Why did He bring them out of Egypt? What does the verse say? He brought them out so that He could dwell among them. He wanted to be with them. To get them to Himself, He had to send plagues. He had to drive them through the sea. He had to lead them through land where there was no food or water. It was all to get them to Himself.
And, of course, to Him is where we want to go. He is our safety, our home. Our eternal dwelling is with Him. Let Him bring you to Himself. There may be disasters, looming threats, apparent lack. They are all within the Lord’s control, bringing about His blessing, bringing you to Himself. Go with God and give thanks and praise along the way. You’re going home.
