Believers are told that they will judge the world (1 Cor. 6:2). Believers are told to make the judgment call and kick “the sinner” out of the fellowship (1 Cor. 5:13).
When Jesus spoke, “Judge not,” He wasn’t saying we were never to judge. The direction goes with what follows.
The warning isn’t to not judge, but to be careful not to be a hypocrite in judging. The warning is that you will be judged with the same measure that you judge others. Can you measure up?
It’s followed with the example of nitpicking others’ behavior when your behavior is much worse.
We’re to do to others as we would want them to do to us. This Golden Rule is described as the Law and the Prophets. Everyone who is teaching to live by the Golden Rule, whether Christian or not, is actually teaching people to live by God’s Word. If we are doing that one thing, we are obeying all the law.
Of course, we can’t love perfectly. Only One can love perfectly. We need Christ alive in us by the Spirit; we need love poured into our hearts by the Spirit.
The Father freely offers Love poured out. Ask and He will give. He loves to give the good gift of the Spirit to those who ask.
Ask and receive. Seek and find. If you want to find God, seek Him with your whole heart. Don’t seek after any other thing. If your heart is after God, you’ll have Him.
If you aren’t in fellowship with God, knock. He’s at the door.
