Joel 1:14 …Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.

Joel 2:12-14 “Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts…Who knows whether he will not turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him…

Revival is always available to God’s people. We see it in the stories of Israel, which are for our instruction. We read about revival when good kings realize and mourn their sin, and then destroy the idols. Everyone follows their example.

Idols are things that replace Christ in our lives. What gets your time and attention? What do you think and talk about? What are you seeking? What are you desiring and going after? Is it Jesus Himself?

Do you turn to someone or something other than Christ for comfort or to meet your needs?

We need to die to self in every way to be united to Christ in everything.

Eyes on Jesus. Be His alone.
