Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me.
Since I was looking at the word “knowledge” the other day, I thought I’d take a look at it here. This word comes across more as “know how,” skill. They are rejecting it and it is destroying them. What knowledge are they rejecting? The knowledge necessary for them to become priests.
We are called priests to God, those of us in Christ’s service through His resurrected life in us.
What knowledge would be missing?
The knowledge to be a priest would be the know-how of how to carry out your duty. How do we as the church reject it?
We don’t get our directions from the Lord. We follow the directions in a how-to book. We imitate man instead of imitating Christ.
Hosea 4:12 My people inquire of a piece of wood…
What is paper made from?
Get your know-how from the Lord. Trust Him for knowledge and skill.
