Look at the lives of your teachers, the ones who taught you the word of God. If they have the fruit of Christ in their lives, imitate their faith.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He’s not going to change. The truth isn’t going to change. Don’t chase after new teachings. The old is what you want. The truth has always been true. It hasn’t changed.
The Truth is a person. He is ageless. He Himself brings us to Himself, sanctifying us through His own blood.
He became a reproach. He was taken “outside the camp” to die, where the bodies of the sacrificed animals were burned.
We join Him in His suffering. We get off the broad road to destruction and get on the narrow road which leads outside the camp to where we bear the same reproach, dishonor and shame pointed at us by the world.
For what Jesus has done and for who He is, our response is continual praise. He doesn’t ask us to physically die for Him. We are living sacrifices, and our sacrifice is praise and thanksgiving.
Keep the name of Jesus on your lips. Acknowledge Him in all your ways and live pleasing to the God who loved you so much He gave Himself for you.
Our praise and thanksgiving will sound like Jesus on our lips and look like good works, which will look like sharing what you have.
This will be a joy to God and to the leaders of your church when they see your love and care for each other. They have to give an account for your soul, not for how well they managed the business.
It’s the God of peace who works in us what is pleasing in His sight, who equips us for every good work in His will. It’s all to His glory, but He uses each of us in the lives of each other.
May His grace be with us all, that we may carry out His will in His Church.
