Abundant Waters

The Lord planted His people by abundant waters, in a place with fertile soil. It was expected that their “vine” would bear much fruit.

We have heard before about the Lord planting a vineyard and then being disappointed with the results.

In Ezekiel 17, we’re given a reason.

They reached out to other gods. They wanted to be watered elsewhere. They stretched out their roots and branches to another.

They reached out for another spirit and another light source.

How does the church do this today?

We go after signs and wonders instead of Christ and the Father. If you seek after those things, God can give you over to the search and give you over to another spirit.

We come into the Light to be cleansed from all unrighteousness; if we look for another light that won’t expose our sin and require us to give it up, but will allow us to remain in our selfishness, then God can leave us to it if that’s our choice.

But God will always save a remnant. He will pluck a branch, not uproot the whole thing, and He will plant it on the heights and it will produce much fruit.

God is the Lord Almighty. He has the power to uproot and to plant. He is good and just in all He does.

When He brings us low, it’s so that later He’ll be able to raise us up to the heights.
