God is calling all the nations into judgment. He calls them to gather in the valley of decision. We’re told the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. This is the end. Everyone will have to make their choice or it will be made for them.
Everyone will be judged. You won’t get to decide for yourself whether or not you were good or good enough.
This chapter speaks again of the sun and moon being darkened. This is end-of-times stuff.
The nations will be judged. We are very individualistic people in America. We live to ourselves mostly. We don’t think of ourselves as a whole. We love our independence. It’s a curse in the church because we are meant to be one body, but we spend most of our time caring about ourselves instead of the Body.
The nations will be judged. Is your nation righteous before the Lord? America is deserving of God’s wrath. We’ve shed innocent blood. That is certainly a main thing God says He will punish. He also mentions the selling of children. If I have the stats right, America is the number one consumer for trafficked children. America deserves wrath.
What nation do you belong to? We experience the judgment against our own nations, just as Daniel experienced the judgment on Judah and is taken to Babylon. But Daniel, at the same time, rose above his nation.
We are joined with Israel and are citizens of heaven. Philippians 3:20 says, “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
We are judged with our nation made up of the saints in Christ.
The Lord is a refuge to His people. We will not suffer His wrath. He Himself will be a refuge, a hiding place, a shelter. Nothing in anyway will harm us. We will be gathered to Him and He will decide about us. What will He decide? That we are His people and He is our God.
