Paul was chosen by God to know His will. That would be a comfort when you are facing arrest, knowing you know you are right in the center of God’s will. Does God reveal His will to us?
When we abide in Christ, we are in His will at all times because we are in Christ and Christ is in God’s will. We can trust God to keep us in His will. We can trust God to cause us to walk in His ways. We also know His will is to love God and love others.
Paul was appointed to hear Jesus. I have never heard God out loud. I know many people who have. For all the miracles I have experienced, there are many supernatural experiences I haven’t had, like hearing an audible voice or seeing angels. But I don’t need to. Blessed are those who believe without seeing. Don’t seek experiences. Seek God. He can make Himself heard without you hearing a voice. Trust Him.
The Old Testament has plenty of prophecies about the Gentiles being part of God’s plan. God will send His light to the Gentiles. Abraham’s seed will be a blessing to all nations. But they know their own thoughts and traditions better than God’s Word. They want to kill Paul for saying God sent him to the Gentiles.
Paul escapes by using his Roman citizenship. God perfectly prepared Paul in every way. The soldier lets him speak after realizing he speaks Greek. The crowd listens carefully when they realize Paul speaks Hebrew. He gets fair, at least better, treatment for being a Roman citizen. God had him born in the right place at the right time. Paul was trained in the Old Testament under the top teacher. He was prepared for what God had planned.
You were born for such a time as this. You were born at the right time in the right place. Your upbringing, your education, your personality and talents, all of it is for God’s purposes. Give them over. See what He can accomplish.
