Thrilled

  1. I chose the New Living Translation today. I don’t think I have ever had you read that before, but I love telling God He thrills me! Verse 4, “You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!”
  2. I love the psalmist’s instructions. It is good to give thanks. It is good to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim God’s unfailing love. It is good to proclaim God’s faithfulness.
  3. It is good. If you ever don’t know what to do, here are some good things to choose from. They are always the right thing to do. They will always be a good choice.
  4. We can always praise and thank because His love will always be unfailing and He will always be faithful. His works will always be great. He’s amazing!
  5. And His thoughts will always be deep, or you could say, so far removed from what we can possibly understand. He alone is wise. We can trust His wisdom. He knows what He’s doing.
  6. The image of the righteous being like trees with green leaves that never wither and which produce fruit is found in other psalms and in the prophets as well.
  7. Psalm 93 proclaims: The Lord is king! The Lord is mightier than all.
  8. In Psalm 94, the psalmist is seeing the wicked at work but knows they aren’t really getting away with anything. The Lord sees all.
  9. He knows that the Lord would never abandon His special possession and that God’s love couldn’t fail and it gave him hope and comforted him.
  10. And when all seems bad, he knows that he can go and hide in the fortress. God Himself is his fortress, and the mighty rock where he can go hide and take refuge, knowing God will destroy his enemies. He doesn’t need to fight back; he can just cling to the mighty rock.
