The Lord Returns

Jesus will return. His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives. What’s the history of the Mount of Olives?

King David fled there to escape Absalom. Ezekiel prophesied from there. Jesus prayed there in the Garden of Gethsemane, but He prayed there often. Jesus ascended into heaven from there. He will return there.

God will defeat Israel’s physical enemies and physically return. When Jesus stands on the Mount, it is described that it will be split in two.

Then all of God’s holy ones will come with Him.

It’s described as a unique day with no day or night. I would think things would certainly be different in the heavens if the sky were rolled back like a scroll!

Jesus will come to earth and rule as king over all the earth. What we know as earth may look very different after God’s wrath is poured out on the nations. I believe everything will certainly center around Israel. Jesus will rule from Jerusalem.

Israel will live in safety with Jesus ruling. That’s really not been part of their history ever, except for some limited periods under kings, especially in particular under Solomon’s whole reign because the Lord declared a time of rest.

If someone tries to war with Israel, they will rot away.

God will win against Israel’s enemies. There will be no contest.

The plunder of the nations will come to Jerusalem.

The remnant of the nations will worship the Lord. They will come to Jerusalem and keep the feasts decreed by the Lord. If they don’t, they will be punished.

We get one more tidbit about every horse and every pot being holy to the Lord. That means they are set apart to the Lord.

There will no longer be a trader in the house of the Lord, no more marketplace in what should be a house of prayer.
