It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. You are meant to live free. Are you held captive? Are you captive to sin? Are you captive to thoughts? Are you captive to lusts, things your flesh desires?

We are meant to be free in Christ. Nothing should be able to call you and have you answer, except the Holy Spirit.

We are meant to be free in Christ. No temptation should be able to win you over.

We are meant to be free in Christ. We’re to have our eyes on Jesus and think on Him.

We are meant to be free in Christ. We’re not to be beholden to other teachers. We submit ourselves to God.

How do we live in our freedom? How do we do anything? By faith.

By faith we live in our freedom. By faith the old man is dead. By faith the life of Christ is alive in us.

By faith we say no to temptation. We say, “That’s the old man. That’s what he wanted. He’s dead now. I am a new creation. That’s not what I want. That’s a lie. I know the truth. Jesus is the truth and He is my savior from that.” And you thank and praise the Lord. Victory!

By faith we keep from going under any burden put on us by others. We yoke ourselves to Jesus whose burden is light. He is our righteousness. If He convicts us on something, we change and act because it’s in our heart to obey Him. If we are condemned by others, it becomes a tormenting and paralyzing thing. Conviction leads to action. Condemnation leads to inaction. Get out from under condemnation. Be free in Jesus.

If you are convicted and you are justifying your actions, saying that you are not under condemnation because you are free in Christ, you probably need to give that thing up. If your flesh is wanting it and you are making excuses, give it up. Ask God to take it away if He wants to. Be willing to let go and watch to see what He does. Then cooperate.
