Is. 49:2 …he made me a polished arrow…
We’re back to the threshing theme. What does a polished arrow look like? What does it look like for God to make you a polished arrow? Think of a stick being turned into an arrow. First, the bark would need to be stripped off, strip by strip. What’s God up to taking things or people away from you? Then, any piece sticking out would need to be cut off. Give it up to Him. Then, it would need to be scraped until the crooked places were made straight. Then, it would need forming into the shape needed for the assigned task. Finally, a good polishing up until the rough places were perfectly smooth. It can be hard to submit patiently to the process.
Ps. 69:6 Let not those who hope in you be put to shame…
But we look expectantly to God for deliverance into His purposes on the other side and pray in hope.
Ps. 69:13 … my prayer is to you, O Lord, at an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love answer me in your saving faithfulness.
Is. 49:23 …those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.”
There is a purpose to it all, God’s will done to His glory.
Is. 49:6 …I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
