Ephesians was the first book I memorized, so Ephesians 2 is a familiar chapter. I believe Isaiah 43 was the first chapter of Isaiah I memorized, so that is deeply familiar to me as well. Full disclosure, Psalm 67 from today I also have memorized. I spend about an hour and a half a day on memorizing, repeating Scriptures. I love having God’s word in my heart. If you don’t memorize, find a way to meditate on God’s word, to keep it on your lips. I just finished learning Psalm 104. Verse 34 says, “May my meditation be sweet to Him.” We had just read Song of Solomon, “His mouth is most sweet” (SS 5:16). Having God’s word on your lips is sweet to the Lord.

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

The blood affords us nearness with Christ. Take advantage. Don’t keep your distance. Nothing should keep you from drawing near. Everything should drive us to God, never away, whether sin or hurt or questioning or celebration! It’s all a reason to draw near.
